Here's a couple of tips on how to improve your income potential and get more referrals, these are from personal experience but I'm sure they will help you too as they have helped me.
First Get a Free Web-based e-mail account (ex. hotmail, yahoo, etc.) to get all your paid emails, confirmation email and news from your joined programs. You don't have to do this in order to join the programs but
Since you are going to get lots of e-mails it is the best way to keep them organize in one place, plus you won't have to use your regular e-mail account for this purpose.

Whenever is possible for you, use the same user name and password when you sign up for the programs. Some will give you an ID number which you will have to remember.
For this purpose you can use Gator, is your smart online companion that automatically fills in online forms, remembers login IDs/passwords, Gator software is extremely polite, and stay out of sight until it can help you. (it will pop up when is time to log in or fill any form)

If you have a website, use your links to get referrals from visitors or you can place banners to your site.
If you join multiple programs you may want to have your own website and display their info in a organized manner (like this website). There's plenty of Free services you can choose from to make your own Money Making website. You can get a Free website at 50megs.com
Once you have your website, Promote it, you can use free classifieds websites, FFA links page, Free search engine submit and exchanging links with other webmasters. You can also use paid services if you want to, but I suggest you take advantage of all the Free services available over the internet and save money! One thing I am eager to do is post a classified add on the local newspaper at least for a weekend (which is not expensive) try that out and see how many people respond to it!
I have a few suggestions to get the most out of your website:
1-Keep track of your site visitors, Get a good tracking service, I use Direct Hit Tracker, and Hitbox, both offer an excellent service plus is Free!, that way you will know how many people are visiting your website.
2-Add polls with specific questions you want to know about your visitors.
3-Always add your contact info on every page (ex. your email address) in case someone wants to ask you something.
4-Use a link tracking service, I use Linkcounter with this service you will know which links are more popular and which ones are getting the most hits (this service is Free!).

Make flyers, post them on your school, office or around the neighborhood, this is a great free way to advertise your site and get referrals, also you can add your link to your business cards and letter heads.
